I've a break in some armoured cable that is going to a garden sodium light.
There is power at one end but not the other. Is there an easy way of finding breaks in cable without digging the whole thing up?

May be possible to use a cable tracer? The signal would go dead once you pass the break point in the cable. What depth is the cable buried at? 450mm?

I do not know if its possible for a cable tracer to work at that depth.

It's buried about 6 inches down.

You could try a CAT (cable avoidance tool) and a genny. Hire shop will have one
