During a run? Not really although has happened once or twice when running on rough ground if I loose my footing.

My back is very stiff these days but is all linked to stiff hip flexors. I'm waking up in the night in some discomfort. Need to stretch more!

Tight hip flexors cause the pelvis to tilt forward and thus back pain.

The body is connected in so many ways and thus its important to loosen all the surrounding areas also.

When i came off my bike id serious issues with my QL muscle and then in turn very sore hip flexors when cycling.

    All sorted now though

As Kenny says, tight flexors tilting pelvis etc. You should see a good physio and they should be able to spot problem areas when they look at your range of motion etc.

I'm seated all day in work also and make a conscious effort to get up and move around as much as possible definitely helps (if you can)

I have been prone to back spasms - sometimes it feels like they have been related to running - but I think its more a case of weak core and back muscles possibly aggrevated by long hours running but not caused by it. I started a core strengthening class, so far so good - no more spasm. I sit at a desk and had bad posture, I am a recent convert to the whole issue of core strength/flexibility, I know some are sceptics but I have had immediate improvements as a result.

You've had problems with your back for ages haven't you? Have you seen more than one physio for it or have you kept going back to the same one? Maybe it's time for a second or third opinion?

I've had back spasms leading to hamstring and ITB trouble. Hamstring used to get tight from sprinting, knee on slower, longer runs.

Thankfully it looks to be on the mend now. A few physio sessions and lots of stretching, I had stiffness in my pelvis and lower back which we've been working on.

Hi, I am getting really sharp pains in my foot after running. Not when I run but the next day. I have good running shoes and got the gait done in Elverys. Anyway do you think I should see a physio or get an xray?

I'd go the Physio path with this one and let him/her decide on a x-ray or scan etc. Lots of things can go wrong with feet, even a small/slight issue can cause pain.
