    meant to add that this work was done by a plumber who has installed alot of stoves successfully

    Hope he hasn't installed many that way! As mentioned in the other thread there are several reasons why this is not a good idea. The cheapest solution is to install a twin wall flue on the stove.

    i really don't think that there is room for that, how would we go about it, how expensive

    Whoever installed that stove wants shooting! That is hard to believe that there are still cowboys chancing their arms and doing work like this.

    I think your cheapest option would be to move the stove to an external wall in the same room, and fit stainless steel flue through wall and turn upwards outside to above eaves level. - You say you have a bungalow so prices shouldnt be too expensive.

    Try here for an idea of costs - prices are in sterling, but it will give you an indication....
