If this is in the wrong place, please move. In the 80’s I used to buy a weekly magazine series called ‘The Country Look’. It went on for ages and I saved them in their special 3-bar files. They had a lot of crafts in them plus cooking, gardening and home decorating etc. I rediscovered them during a recent clearout but I don’t think they are complete. They were £1.70 per week, but it mounted up over time and was very expensive when you add it all up. I can’t find anything online about them. Does anyone know at what stage the magazines finished? I have from Part 1 to 120 with a few missing in-between.

There were 144 parts, but I only bought to part 143 as part 144 was the index and I refused to buy it on pricipal as I felt after buying that many parts that the index should have been a freebie.

I still like to read this magazine as it really has some fabulous Country Look ideas. The magazine was released by Eaglemoss Publications in 1990 and ran to 1993.

Your question has been the first that I have seen in regard to this magazine and I notice your posting was 2011.

As they say "Better to be late than never", so here is my reply in 2013.

Thanks for that kaasecall. Yes, I'm still around and after your reply am feeling awfully guilty for being so daft in my youth spending all that hard-earned money, which I could do with now!! :o

Awh, don't feel bad, it was only 1.70 a week. I bet you spent more on sweets and minerals.

After spending $AU564.85, I agree with you. I certainly could have bought one fabulous book for that amount.

The figure seems worse when you actually read it. Better to keep it as a distant memory! :)

Hi – I have the complete set of The Country Collection but the following pages were damaged in my move over here and I would love either colour or black/white copies of the following pages:
    Home Sewing - Windows 53-56, 61-64, 77-80, 89-92
    Decorating - Painting 45-48 and 141-144
    Decorating - Detailing 35-38, 45-48 and 321-324
    Flowers & Gardens 331-334
that makes a total of 40 pages or 20 double sided A4 pages. Can any of you help? - I am very happy to pay for the photocopies and postage.
