Has anyone else noticed a surge in gayness over the last few years? Is it some kind of fashion trend?

yeah its a trend in recent times. Now that its OK and everything you get teens and all sorts of attention seekers just coming out as gay just for the sake of it. Quite pathetic really. Sure the media today practically encourages it by trotting out gay and lesbian celebs and being gay is some sort of thing to rejoice and celebrate, thus making teens think its a better way to be.

I don't mind gays, but some just go around shouting and going ona bout it all the time and i'm like, why? the rest of us don't go around boasting that we're straight and having straight pride parades do we?

whatever about gay or lesbian, but the whole transgender thing is just stupid. Look, if your born with two x chromosomes your female and an x and y chromosome your a male. End of. That the way i see it. This whole transgender thing is just an attention seeking load of crap.

edit: i wouldn't be surprised if i were banned now for not being a PC fanatic.

It has become more accepable to be gay in he pas couple of years and many people who are LGBT feel like they don't have o hid their feelings anymore(or stay in the closet)

More power to them ! :D

It should never of been a problem in the first place. Many straight men think it is ok for two women to be sexual attracted to each other, but then the table is turned, its completely wrong !?
Stonewall - Some people are gay. Get over it

Can we just remember that sexuality is not a choice. Calling something a trend suggests that it is. There are alot of gay people who feel they cannot be open about their sexuality, and it's statements like the OP's that are responsible. Nobody comes out 'just for the sake of it'. You should be happy to live in a society where the majority of people can be free to express themselves.

I know a fella that 'came out' a year or two ago. It was suspected that he was gay before this but he acted normally and the vast majority would never have known he was gay, however since he came out he has become the biggest fairy that ever walked, he's loud and obnoxiously gay and flowery. Every gesture, mannerism and word he utters screams 'look at me and how gay i am' All his friends are now women, he dresses in bright flowery clothes, he has taken up hair-dressing (previously worked in a supermarket) and his voice has gone up 3 or 4 octaves in pitch. I have no problem with gay people but this tool deserves to be beaten up everytime he sets foot in public, he's simply the biggest fake w**ker your ever likely to meet!

did you ever notice that a lot of gay men have the same kind of look about them, kind of the way down syndromes have a certain look. I don't mean that in a derogatory way but it's the best way i can think of to describe what i'm thinking. a unique kind of look.

    A tad harsh no ?
So what, let him on with himself...He's not disturbing your everyday life just because he's 'loud & proud' doesn't mean he should be beaten up.
If you haven't noticed already no 2 people in society are the same. ..All his friends are now women - So !? What difference does it make..actually you sound kinda jealous tbh. Maybe all his guy friends rejected him after he 'came out' and the only people he had left was his girl friends.

    ...But thats just my opinion

    I sympathise with your dilemma.
I mean, how dare these people do anything but conform to your expectations of them? It is so mind boggling selfish that they'd even think about not living a lie anymore and frankly your calls for violence are remarkably restrained.

Because if this person can go from "normal" to a poorly described hodgepodge of clichés then it could happen to anyone! It could even happen to you... and if it did I don't know if you could pull of the bright flowery look. Certainly not while being beaten up every time you set foot in public.

What a stupid statement, people aren't "coming out as gay" for no reason.

You're seeing more and more people come out because it's more acceptable in society now, not because it's a trend.

Accusing gay people of coming out nowadays purely because it's cool and a way to get attention? What!?!

I fink i can identify polish/general east europeans too - the also have a kind of "foreigner" look. Thats before you even consider the shaved head and A4/passat estate with alloys and blacked windows

I was getting at the fact that he now "acts" as in puts on an act to show he's gay...wasnt that the whole point of this thread? He's completely fake, he came out and all of a sudden he took on this new over exagerated persona.

Ok the beaten up in public comment was unnecessary, but it simply annoys me that someone feels they have to put on this huge act everytime they open their mouth or do something. Its not because his sexuality compels him to act that way, its because he thinks he has to act that way so that people know he's gay....again wasnt that the discussion in the first place????

I know plenty of people who acted straight before coming out in a shower of rainbows. To me it just shows the length they went to hide themselves. I'm gay and I act like your typical straight person, but i dont judge anyone who comes out and accepts who they really are.

And the guy who thinks transgender is nonsense is the tool.
