What caliber is written on the Moderator?
The thread that you screw the Mod onto the rifle comes in different sizes too.

Caliber and thread size should be engraved somewhere on the Mod.

the 308 is a bigger calibre and IF THE T8 IS FOR THE 223 calibre it will do you, the mod, and anyone nearby damage.

Check by putting a 8mm rod through the mod, 8mm drill bit will do, if it goes then its OK for 308. If not put the mod in a lathe and get it drilled out to the correct 30 cal size.

it will be stamped on the end of the mod like in this pic of mine for the .223.

it is rated up to .25 cal
this pic shows the stamp reading t8 then the thread 18x1 then cal .25.

if you want to use yours on your .308 make sure it has .30 stamped on it if not then bring it to some one with the proper equipment and drill it out, or sell your one and buy one with .30 stamped on it.

    either way is fine

Is it practical enough to drill out a mod to a bigger calibre? Handy if so. No need to get a bigger one if I change the .25.

i wouldnt just attack it with a cordless drill and an aldi drill bit, i would go to my local engineering shop at the very least and even better go to a rifle builder.

once the hole is drilled in the center and in line then it will be just fine
