Slow connection speeds

I seem to be having trouble with my newly installed Asus PCIe-N10 wireless card. I am getting consistantly slow connection speeds, rarely over 20kbps. Signal strength doesn't seem to be the issue, around 4 bars most of the time. I've gotten the latest driver from the ASUS downloads page but no joy there, speeds are still slow. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?

Any baby monitors / wireless video transmitters nearby?

They can cause problems with wireless cards.
