I remember as a young fella collecting Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon cards. A deck of cards used to cost 12punt ah those were the days everyone out in the school yard fighting over who had the best.

And also the premierleague sticker book where you'd have to fill the book with stickers.

Do they even make these any more?

    Share the memories people :pac:

They do, aye. Wish I'd kept my Pokemon cards. Still love the show and games. Plus I could sell some of them and buy a car. Anyone wanna buy my sh!tty M:TG cards that no one else wanted?

Also, I remember swapping a Blastoise for a Clefairy and Clefable. What a mook.

No matter what the thread is about you manage to turn it into something sexual and sound like a creep. I tip my hat to you Sir.

I remember collecting Batman cards when i was a nipper, had a great big pile of them too. They were expensive too 25p for a pack but you got a free chewingum... the gum was terrible.

No one plays them any more, they're all collectors items. I mean, I collected them, too, but playing the game was way more fun than sticking them in a book and leaving them on a shelf. Pokemon TCG died out when Yu Gi Fucking Oh came along then everyone played that. What a crap game. "I play my Garnering Soul Of Corthorina card!" "Well I play my Mighty Waistcoat card, which in conjunction with my Happy Morrissey card allows me to destroy your card!" "You forget, attacking my card when you have the Fellowship Of Botswana card and the Tea Leaf card in play makes you a homosexual if I have ever watched Candyman in the past. And I have. TWICE." "You forget, yourself, that watching it twice reverses the homosexuality spell and makes you a homosexual!" "You forget that whilst I was watching it I ate cheese pizza and a clown outfit, which nulls the reversal spell so long as I play my Trey Parker card and stand on my head!" "NOOOOOOOO!! I AM GAY, NOW!!"

In my day, the cards of choice were found in Cornflakes' boxes.

I recently spent a silly amount of money getting The Joker, The Riddler &, yes, Ocean Monster (I think Ocean Monster only appeared on these Cornflakes' cards) on ebay.

I also intend to get Marvel Team Up 41, the one with Scarlet Witch & Spiderman... to go with my Star Wars Annual... recapturing the objects of one's youth is an addiction.

I am seriously contemplating tracking down Adidas Rekords.

What about these fellas, the Garbage Pail Kids. I suspect you have to be an eighties child to remember them, or early nineties.

They were brilliant, properly disgusting things and smart out too. I remember my dad being pissed at me spending money on football stickers but always getting a laugh from the Garbage Pail Kids. They also came with the mankiest tasting bubblegum known to man. If you split a pack a cards with someone you'd fight over who got it, trade an extra card for it, then chew it and realise it was in no way worth any sticker, even if you had ten spares(swapsies.)

Remember the Italia '90 stickers being popular, don't think I finished it myself.

I sell them where I work and kids still love them :D

Except they are crap these days! Match Attack is the soccer card one and they are mental for it. All the rest are Ben 10, Hannah Montana, Moshi Monsters.

Bring back Pokemon! I used to get the stickers that were 30c a pack. Me and the sister would raid the penney jar regularly and buy about 6 packs each for our albums.

Even though I was never in to football I always bought these! I think it was more of an ocd thing to collect them all (pokémon style).

Anyone remember this though? (I can't find an exact link to how it used to look like). The Tree Of Knowledge collectable magazines. And you put them in to a binder and had to sort them by subject...........yeah I was beaten up a lot. :(

I used to spend a fortune on Transformer stickers and kept getting the same ones. I didn't know anyone else who collected them so I had no one to swap them with. I don't think I ever completed the album.

I collected WWF (World Wildlife Fund, not the wrestling crap) stickers for a while too. I never completed that album either.

Sticker albums were an ingenious way of scamming children out of their pocket money. You could have bought a book for a fraction of the price. You'd often get a free sticker album and a packet of six stickers free with a comic and think how generous it was of them to give away this free gift. Then you'd spend every bit of money you had trying to fill the thing up.

I also had a habit of putting the stickers in crooked, then taking them out to try and fix them and ruining the stickers in the process.

In our primary school it became something of a sick pleasure for the older kids to throw up a load of premiership stickers and watch the kids fight and scramble over them. They used to spread the word that 100 stickers would be thrown into the air at lunchtime, the rumour would spread like wildfire, usually exaggerated to the point where people would say they were going to throw up dozens of number 1 stickers (as in the first one in the book) and other rarities.

I remember kids with all kinds of cuts and bruises after the chaos that ensued when they were thrown in the air. Yes, we were like a pack of wild animals in our school.

Turtles stickers was what we all had.

Spent a small fortune on them.

Never came close to finishing the book.

We were too poor to afford the cards so we just got the stickers. I remember having big stacks of pokemon stickers, everyone in school would be trading them.

Ill give ya 5 of me cards for that shiny bulbasaur!
