Hi due to loosing my job and no bright outlook for the economy I have cancelled my eircom broadband and went for a vodafone dongle as my main internet I should of cancelled food instead lol. It is abysmal it will not connect to a 3g hsupa network at all only edge. I would give details but its too slow to load speedtest.net. Is their anything I can do because when I checked on vodafone.ie I had 0.09 download 0.09 upload and a ping of 458 ms. Basically unusable. Any help would be great.

You've cancelled your broadband in favour of dial up. There's nothing you can do about that except change to something that might work.

You could always move to your Auntie and Uncle in Bel-air

Isn't there some sort of attachment you can get to help increase your signal?

Personally I'd look for another company, three.ie might prove a better option.

A lot of people get these USB things, connect them to the bottom of the PC (under the desk) and expect them to work.. What I find is that you have to work with them as you would with a mobile phone.. I've drilled through the window and put mine outside, pointing in the direction of the nearest mast... And it works great...

You can find your nearest Vodafone mast on this
