body work on civic

    back quarther panel on a civic i might be buying is bent in and have cut open. just wondering cud i cut out the bit thats damaged and replace it wit body work off another car and weld it on and sand it down..

    yes you could. will be a pig of a job unless you have the necessary skills/equipment. no harm in pricing a new part if it saves you a week of cutting out welds etc :)

    It's about the worst possible place on the car bar the roof to have to replace. I'd seriously reconsider buying unless you're getting a serious deal. just how bad is it?

    well like its just below were petrol tank flap is.. it doesnt really look that bad at all. bumper would need to be fixed would make car look alot better. got qouted 800 euro to fix bumper and hole new side for car... its only small bit at that back thats bent but its also cut.. car is savage thou and cheap...

    As long as the work + price of car less or equal the price of an immaculate car.

    As a heads up Civics are going for peanuts now if you shop around.
