We also have Orton vs Henry as announced on Smackdown.

    I'm guessing we'll see
Truth/Miz vs Kofi/Even for the tag titles
based on last night, and I'd imagine a fourway between Kelly/Eve/Beth/Natalya would make sense as well.

I'm wondering if they'll keep the "every match for a title" gimmick going for this; if they do, Punk vs Nash could take a hit and be pushed right back...

I think we might see a triple threat for the US title with Ziggler, Swagger and Riley

Orton shouldn't smile. Well, not in a "I'm genuinely happy" way, it's okay if he does it in a "I kicked your wife in the f*cking head" way. He just looks weird in that poster

Orton as a face dont work imo

Orton's been really good as a face the last few months. Much better than his tedious, dull work as a heel.

I give all the credit to Christian for that :p

Give these two the tag title shot and make me happy.

Yeah it would go against the actual concept of the PPV, but last year Punk lost to Big Show in the only match on the card which didn't have a title on the line. Punk's hair or mask may have been on the line, I don't remember exactly.

It was in Chicago though so they really had to have Punk on the card.

They could get away with a promo from Nash or Punk and have the two of them beating the crap out of each other until its broken up.

I think it would be criminal to not have Punk wrestle on PPV right now, he's too hot not to be in an advertised match.

Not sure if Punk Vs Nash = huge buys, but it already has me more intrigued than Cena/DelRio that's for sure.

The current plan is to do six title matches and a CM Punk vs. Kevin Nash singles match at the Night of Champions PPV on September 18th from Buffalo, NY. The full match listing hasn’t been confirmed yet but here’s the likely card:

World Heavyweight Title Match: Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton

WWE Title Match: John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio

Divas Title Match: Beth Phoenix vs. Kelly Kelly

Intercontinental Title Match: Ezekiel Jackson vs. Cody Rhodes

United States Title Match: John Morrison or Alex Riley vs. Dolph Ziggler

Tag Team Title Match: TBD vs. Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne

    Kevin Nash vs. CM Punk

John Morrison v Dolph? How many times have they done that? No thank you!

But if the alternative is the awful Ale Riley:(:(

Del Rio v Cena is easily the best thing on that speculative card

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,082 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

I imagine Del Rio is going over Cena and Henry is going over Orton, so it's possible that Punk will have to do the biggest carry job of his career in the main event with Nash to send the crowd home happy.

That's a lot of faith WWE are putting in him.

You can be damn sure both Hunter and HBK will be giving him tips on how to get the best out of Nash.

cena to go down 3 ppv's in a row is quite a lot tho, i see a dq

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,082 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

Should rephrase that. Del Rio will keep the title.

I fully expect Henry to be champ though. I think Orton works better as someone crazily chasing the title.

They wont have Orton drop the belt straight away to Henry , if they are gonna be in a feud he might loose it later on down the line

Expect a bull**** DQ or such like

I'd say they'll put off Henry winning the title til Hell in a Cell next month. He loses under unfair circumstances at Night of Champions (Christian interferes, attacks Orton and inadvertantly gets henry DQ'd?), so Henry goes nuts to get his proper match, and to make it worse for Orton it's Hell in a Cell.

I have no interest in seeing Punk v Nash

Has to be Truth and Miz?

another option is a rematch with Perfect Jr & Otunga but you would have to assume that it wouldent be them b'cos the WWE would want R-Truth and Miz on the card. Maybe they could have an elimination tag match or something with all 3 teams and in that way they could hopefully keep the belts on Kofi/Bourne a bit longer i.e have Otunga & Hennig cost The Awesome Truth their elimination furthering the conspiracy angle or something similar to give Kofi/Bourne the win.

either way Id prefer to see Kofi/Bourne hold the belts for a while and not just be fed to Miz/Truth whom I firmly believe the WWE will get behind moreso than the current champs and will hold the tag belts soon.

HHH announced on Raw that he will face CM Punk at NOC

the decision to announce punk v hhh indicates to me they saw a awful buyrate for this ppv and are attempting to remedy it

this match has such a predicteble ending. Ref gets knocked out, punk gets the pin, but no ref to count, tries to wake up the ref, turns around and gets power slammed by Nash. HHH gets the win.

Next PPV punk V nash, with HHH as referee

    OR
At night of champions, its HHH v punk with nash as ref

In recent years they have made Hell in a Cell Orton's match. In most of his recent fueds, particularly when he was heel Orton, he always won the Hell in a Cell match. I can't see them changing the pattern. Much like HHH, HIAC seems to be Ortons guaranteed win match.

i think it should have had cena v del rio v punk here and have hhh or nash cost punk the match

Yea that would have worked . Maybe after Summerslam HHH kept trying to get in contact with Nash over his actions but no word. Then at NOC he costs Punk the belt again

I think it is too soon for Punk V HHH

Its definitely way too early for HHH/Punk. I was hoping they'd hold off til Wrestlemania. Interesting to see where this goes. If Nash couldn't wrestle, maybe they should have brought Waltman in. As much as I hate the guy, at least it would have made some sense to have Nash bring his friend in, and not blow the HHH/Punk match already.
As for Henry/Orton, WWE have put themselves in a position where Henry has to win the title. I expect Orton to retain at NOC, but lose the title at the next PPV. Same with Del Rio.

    WWE Title Match
John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio

    World Heavyweight Title Match
    Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton

    WWE Tag Team Title Match
The Miz & R-Truth vs. Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne

    WWE Divas Title Match
    Beth Phoenix vs. Kelly Kelly

    No DQ Match
    CM Punk vs. Triple H
If Punk wins, Triple H must resign as COO.

i think i'm going to predict a Punk win thanks to a Jacknife, and the newwwwww c.o.o will be....... vincent kennedy mcmahon, or maybe not. but a punk win looks good. and henry winning the title just cant happen, now i'm not a fan of orton, but mark henry world champion  after all these years just plodding along, just would'nt be right.

The idea of Laurinitus becoming COO was discussed on Review-a-Wai's Raw review, and then having Nash, Punk and Laurinitus becoming the new nWo, revelaing they were all working together all along. :p

just saw that on another website, its a decent idea, Punk setting up his own version of the nWo could be very interesting, not really sure about nash and laurinitus having a part in it though.

So Punk had Nash jacknife him & cost him the title to fool people into thinking they hated each other, well the Nash/Punk/HHH storyline has sucked so much nothing could make it worse.
Cena asked earlier is it on Sky Sports yes it is.

So Punk back to being a heel

I think Punk will win maybe Nash and John Laurinaitis will interfere

I hope Henry dont get any or if he does not a long title reign ffs Christian had very short reigns :( I prefer if Sheamus and Christian were added into Orton V Henry match

I still think it is too soon for Punk V HHH so my idea would be have HHH mysteriously "taken out" at the start of NOC so his match with Punk dont happen and maybe have Punk face someone else like Wade or Matista or even just cut a promo in the ring

Whilte it may be too soon, I dont see them doing something like making him face just another wrestler. Would have to be part of the story, so most likely Nash.

Even so, I just foresee a screw job for Punk.

Setting him up for him to be Austin mk II, im against the boss.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,082 ✭✭✭✭chopperbyrne

They need to keep Punk as a face and the only way to do that is turn Hunter heel.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,520 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

I hope Punk and HHH get to put on a top class match. A part of me wants a non finish that sees Punk and HHH getting equally screwed by some body. Maybe Lauraintis and Nash backed up by Miz and Truth.

I am not that convinced by a vince v stone cold 2.0 with HHH as vince. HHH is well respected and many people will get it hard to boo him. I really think laurainitis could be taking on the Vince roll as WWE fans have no reason to like him and could hate him if prompted too.

It think it would be cool to see HHH and Punk teaming up for a while eventually leading to a one on one match at mania.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,788 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Part of me wants Punk to turn heel and team with Miz & Truth. The three are running the same gimmick at the moment anyway and would make for a believable "Anti-establishment" gimmick, even if it would be hard to keep them heel long term...

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,520 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

Face Pink is needed more than Heel Punk.

Turn him heel now and we are back with Orton and Cena with no other face wrestlers that have peoples attention.

Punk already had Cena and Orton feuds.

Um, anyone order this with Sky yet?

Rang up and the girl told me that it wasn't part of the sky package. :O Told me to ring the third party who was showing it. What's up with that?

EDIT: Oh, it's not PPV. Awesome. But why were they telling me to ring a third party? :(
