I got a decent offer for a laptop I'm selling online but the buyer wants to pay via paypal. The aside me to request payment and they will transfer the funds to my account. Upon receipt of the item the funds will be released and everyones happy. Clearly I haven't used paypal and just curious if they seems ok? I'm generally skeptical unless dealing face to face

    Yes.

    Yes.

Well about a year back now I encountered the same scenario. I was selling my laptop on eBay and the buyer paid through PayPal. It took at least three weeks for the cash to clear, but fortunately it did come. If the buyer has good feedback, then there is no real reason for you to suspect anything will go wrong. Good Luck anyway

Or if indeed it wasn't through eBay, then please kindly ignore all of the above.

Normally PayPal is a safety way to pay and get paid. While of course you also should be a little more careful when selling items of high value, especially if the payment is coming from another country. See if your buyer is Verified or has a confirmed address. It would be better if you are ebay seller, thus PayPal Seller Protection covers your transaction.

make sure you send your item signed for because this person you are selling to could contact paypal and say they never received the item then paypal may return there fee and you wont get your item back

i would work out the postage rates and give them to the buyer

    this should help
