Over the weekend this thread was posted by danger mouse in after hours - Garda nearly killed me and my brother today.

The guy was laughed out of it and the thread locked.

Then today I read this on breakingnews.ie

"Armed gardaí opened fire on a car carrying suspected members of a crime gang after the driver refused to stop.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and a gun and cash recovered from a second car stopped yesterday on country roads outside Ballymore Eustace on the Wicklow-Kildare border.

Armed officers from the Organised Crime Unit had been tailing the two cars suspected of carrying members of a Dublin crime gang.

They pulled over one of the cars but also opened fire a number of times after the driver of the other vehicle ignored orders to stop.

The arrested man was detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and is being questioned at Naas Garda Station.

The Garda Press Office said investigations are continuing.

In fairness the mod left a proviso that the thread would be unlocked if proof was provided, but some of the users comments weren't very complimentary

No you wouldn't you'd piss your pants, just like I nearly pissed my pants when a Garda car came flying around a truck pulling out at a junction, they barely squeezed through the gap lucky they didn't kill someone.
