Not a hope for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, I couldn't work in a job that punishes people who are involved in drug use/dealing.

Secondly, I don't like being locked into anywhere so I think it would go for my nerves.

But you could supplement your income by providing drugs to the inmates. All the while, sticking it to the man whilst working for him.

    No i wouldn't.
Kinda related, work in one of the major Hospitals and we get a lot of prisoners, every day you will see them, but whats funny is most of the time you can't tell which one is the prisoner, both men are chained to one another and they both look as rough as each other, quite funny to see actually.

Possibly the most thankless job going.

Weak minded people like most prisoners say thanks a lot if you do anything nice now and again, prison officers aren't complete arses to prisoners.

Even watching the prisoners in the hospital they are laughing and joking and sharing smokes with the prison officers. but you can tell they aren't their friend the prison officers are watching everything the prisoner does while trying to be causal with him, interesting skill to see.

Indeed. That and being a cop. I couldn't do them for any money in the world.

Met a prison guard at a party a few weeks ago, he's been at it for a few years and definitely wouldn't recommend it. Only reason he was still at it is because it's secure.
He can't "take anything out" on the prisoners because there's constant cameras and people looking over his shoulders, there's always assault, said it's the worst of the worst of the people you could possibly imagine, constant abuse.
He seemed a bit psycologically fúcked, being so used to dealing with scum and not able to deal normally with people, but also a bit of a cold arrogant asshole, as is to be expected when dealing with that type of person.

Good long term secure, pensionable job so I'd probably take it.

I'm sure it would fúck you up psychologically, but I'm already pretty fúcked up so how never.
