I bought some AG Super resin polish and some AG extra gloss protection today just wondering what would be the best cloths / applicators to use for it?

    thanks

A lightly dampened soft foam pad like this for SRP. Use the polish sparingly and work it in well.

Dry microfibre pad like this for EGP. Apply it as thinly as possible or it may be more difficult to remove. Let it dry for a while first before buffing off.

Wipe off powders or residues of SRP and EGP with soft microfibre cloths. Other similar pads or cloths will work as well but quality can vary from a name brand to a cheaper/generic one.

No point applying HD wax to contaminated or oxidised paint. Wax will not clean or polish, just protect. A good paintwork cleanser or cleaner polish (SRP) applied first, will make a world of difference. Results are more down to the level of preparation, rather than the actual products themselves. They just add the finishing touch.

thats whats so great about that Chemical Guys clay block, its a block, so no, moulding and re-shaping etc

Think you'll get 2-3 cars done with one block but best confirm with Andy in Detailer.ie when/if buying.

its gonna be some job man!! just waiting on the wax and clay from the uk have the rest.

Fair enough process but you could leave the EGP stage out altogether if applying HD wax last of all. If you still decide to apply the EGP after SRP, I'd let it cure overnight before waxing on top. While they are completely different products, they are essentially doing the same job. If I was you I would apply srp, then the HD wax and just top it up from time to time after washing with their mild shampoo.

yep I read that too tom but I heard that you get a bit of a better shine with th egp before the hd wax!

    thanks for the advice :)

I've used the srp and it's good stuff. I kept thinking when I was using it that if I only had a D/A polisher now the results would be better. Just requires a bit of elbow grease :D.

What are the disadvantages of using an old cloth instead of apllicator pads for polishing?
