Awrite. Now im really confused. I ordered the ak , than they said it was out of stock and that they would give me 5k bb's and m4a1 for the same price. But , the only m4 left in stock is a 90 Euro AEG when i originally payed 69 for the ak.

Is this airsoft rifle good for plinking and the like? 6 votes

It would serve you for a bit of plinking etc but it wouldn't be up to. If you were looking for a skirmish gun you'd be spending about €150 at a minimum, plus then factor in the cost of extra magazines, bbs, mask etc. But that gun is fine for a bit of target shooting like ya said.

Also...'in the forest'...do not go airsofting in a forest...it's highly illegal and you'll get in serious trouble with the Gardai...be warned.

It would be fine for messing around with your friends in your backyard or somewhere like that but not in a forest or a random field.

Well...because it's illegal...unless you're on private property with the landowners permission you can't use it for airsoft. Going to a forest with aegs, getting seen by a member of the public and reported to the Gardai will get you in serious trouble..at the very least they'll take the guns off you and haul you home to your parents, it's more likely that they would do you for brandishing a realistic imitation firearm..lets just say that would be very bad for you. Ignore the advice if you want but you're taking a big risk using fields/forests without the proper permission.

Put simply, it's illegal to brandish Realistic Imitation Firearms in public. In fact, it's illegal if any member of the public can see you. It has to be out of sight of the general public, and as far as I know that also stretches over into your back yard i.e. if there are overlooking houses etc.

Running around with airsoft guns in a forest could cause quite a lot of panic in members of the public, and in the eyes of the law it is a firearms conviction, which is a very serious thing.

A very common misconception in Irish Airsoft is that airsoft guns are toys...they're not. In the eyes of the law they are Realistic Imitation Firearms - as such they carry their own legalities, and thus require a great degree of responsibility as well as maturity.

EDIT: Apologies - Blay got there first!

You won't get much info about the website here, most people on here would buy they're guns in shops or on more dedicated airsoft websites. The guns justbbguns sell won't last you very long, even just target shooting.

Depends how much you intend to use it, how well its made etc. Could last you a week or it could last you a year but for €70 don't expect much from it.

Yep, you get what you pay for with airsoft, if you were looking for a reliable gun that would be good for targets and even proper skirmishing you'd spend €150 at a minimum. €70 just won't get you anything reliable, you would be better off saving some money, even €130-€150 and looking for a proper gun second hand.

They're not Hobby Airsoft sell a lot of decent gear - usually made by Cyma, A&K, JG and Dboys - not the usual high end stuff, but solid good performers none the less. The budget stuff isn't for skirmishing at all - it's for plinking or wall hanging.

I could be wrong here Ger, but I think the link/website originally posted by the OP wasn't for HobbyAirsoft, but justbbguns.....

He edited his link last night.

    Ok
Broski, this thread would be a lot less confusing if you added more information in a new reply rather than editing your original post. People who follow threads on forums typically check the most recent post(s) rather than starting again at the very beginning.

In any case, your change of supplier isn't really going to change the issue people have brought up here. Yes, Hobby Airsoft have a good reputation. However, if you're paying less than €100 for an airsoft gun it's almost certainly going to be rubbish by the standards of the skirmishers who frequent these forums, no matter where you get it. If you want something decent, you need to pay at least €150, preferably more like €200.

If you're after really good value try checking out the second-hand market - the adverts forum here often has really good deals.
