please help freesat

    hi there i have a pain in my tits and am looking for some help i had freesat via a sky dish then over the harsh winter we had the sat channels said no signal i want to get the free sat up and running again.
    i have the analouge sat finder im getting good signal but wen i tune in on my pc i get only 20 channels the only ones that work are "d-smart promo channel" and "sports tv" the rest are pay tv channels and i never heard of any of them am i pointed to the right sat????
    looks the same as sat next door
    also a channel coming in is "itvgametest 2"

    oh and i bought a brand new lnb.

    hope someone can help me

    Use this website: http://www.dishpointer.com/
    Type in your address and select 28.2E. It will give you a good line indication of where to point it. I generally use a prominent point on the map that the indication line crosses (neighbour's chimney for example), then point the dish at that & then fine tune.

    If you google "itvgametest 2" and "d-smart promo channel", you will find links to sat sites which may indicate that your dish is pointed at 42E.

    Use these sites to check the details on your channels, like transponder frequency (usually a 5 number digit) and other PID values like audio (APID) and video (VPID).

    If it is pointed at 42E, and you want the channels at 28E, it should be pretty obvious which direction the dish needs to be swung to get there. Use the dishpointer site linked above to give you an idea.

    well guys thanx a mill for the replies just as i was about to rip the sat off the wall i moved it a bit to the west and down and hey presto i recieved channels,
    i think i was recieving turkish channels alright,doesnt look the same angle as next door but maybe the angle differs with the different lnb's,
