D4 Events present the Winamax European Short-Handed Poker Championships 2011

D4 Events are proud to announce The Winamax European Short-Handed Poker Championship 2011. This will be the third year of this 6 max event. 2009 saw Swiss player Raymond Beytrison conquer a field of 141 players. In 2010 it was Irishman Alan Trueick who beat 311 other players as the tournament more than doubled in size.

The 2011 Event is expected to be even bigger again with some great new additions to what is sure to be the biggest 6 max event in Europe! The venue will be once again the Ballsbridge Inn, Dublin.

Firstly, Winamax are putting up a €150,000 guarantee on the main event! Satellites have already started on winamax.fr and so far more than 75 seats have already been awarded. With nearly 4 months to go and 3 qualifiers gtd every week this number is sure to smash the 150 players who qualified last year.

You can also qualify on Red Hot Poker via their BYOPP (Build your own poker package) promotion - finals are every Sunday night and are running now. You can win your way into the weekly final for free!

Other websites will also be launching qualifiers soon.

Local live satellites will also be announced in the next few weeks.

For the first time at a D4 Events tournament and as far as I am aware for the first time in Ireland there will be re-entries allowed on Day 1B. This means that any players who bust out on Day 1a can re-enter the tournament on Day 1B allowing players two opportunities at this fantastic event.

The structure has been retained from 2010. Players will start with 20,000 chips and the blind levels have been specifically designed for 6 Max play.

Our maximum seating capacity per day is 402 players. 100 seats for Day 1b will reserved for the re-entry option. Any of these that remain after Day 1a has finished will be released for general sale.

The Side Events will all start full ring as in 2010 but will revert to 6 Max play when 30 players remain.

The final table will be streamed live on www.d4events.com.

    The official website is www.euroshorthandedpoker.com

Registration is open now. The form is on the website and should be used for all hotel and tournament registrations. Please use this form rather than PM's to book your seats.

Hotel rooms are available for €69 per room per night for up to 2 people. Early booking is advisable as demand on hotel rooms this week is higher than normal due to the Solheim Cup.

The full schedule of events is:

We are now nearly at 400 registered players for this event. Day 1B will likely sell out before the end of August as we are only pre-selling 302 seats for Day 1B to make sure there are seats for players re-entering from Day 1A.

If any seats remain after play finishes on Day 1A then registration will re-open for Day 1B.
