No Power to Monitor

Yesterday morning when i turned on my PC the monitor light was flashing for a bit and when the screen came on there was a green hue to the screen. Went to turn it on this morning and now there is no power going to the monitor at all. There are no power lights coming on and i have checked and tried different cables. Is it possible for this to be repaired or am i looking at forking out for a new one?
    Cheers

Ya you need to to take it to an IT Technician and they will check it out. My guess is they may or may not be able to repair it could be the VGA video graphics card/connection is worn out or your resolution/refresh rate is up too high. You be best to get a new monitor, you can get a reasonable priced monitor if you get it from an IT Technician shop they be able to set it up with your processor. Be sure to bring in your processor with the monitor it be the only way they can check to see what the story is and if you need a new monitor they get it set in terms of compatibilities but you might have to get it set up yourself regarding cables etc. After that just link up with the cables the IT Techs will have it installed with the drivers I say for the monitor unless you really need it you might have to install the drivers unless the computer asks for definitely if you have a usb port on your monitor you might need to install the cd that comes with it at home then.

    Um, monitors don't need drivers.

All devices require drivers albeit most monitors will work with a generic driver.

Could be a dried capacitor or cold joint etc. Might be worth fixing depending on a value of that monitor. If you are in Cork send me priv and maybe I can help.

Cheers for all the replies much appreciated. Was using my phone to get online but the screen is crap on that too so it's a pain to use. The monitor is working again but intermittently :( When i plug it in sometimes it receives power (light indicator comes on) then others it won't. When it does get power the light is flashing for a bit and then it may die or may come on, so i can't really use it like this. The monitor is pretty decent 24" LG i was using for photography around €300 so if it's repairable within reason id go that route. The color is still an issue, it's not right at all. I've been using it 3-4 years now on this PC so nothing new was introduced.
PapaSierra cheers for the offer but i'm in Galway. Does anybody know anyone in this neck of the woods that may be able to take a look?

    Cheers.
