They've put out Arrietty and From Up On Poppy Hill in the relatively recent past. Was particularly fond of Poppy Hill, although it's closer in tone to Only Yesterday or Ocean Waves than any of the more high-profile Ghiblis.

They're taking a 'rest' year this year, but there'll hopefully be a new Miyazaki and a new Takahata film next year, which is exciting.

Takahata doesn't bother me too much, I'd be excited for a new Miyazaki though  Have you seen Tales from Earthsea? Looks good

I'm actually a big fan of Takahata, I think Pom Poko is their must underappreciated film. Plus, his new film is based on The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, which could be an amazing art style choice.

We don't talk about Tales from Earthsea. The only genuinely awful Ghibli movie. Shockingly bland.

are you serious? it's one of my favourite folktales <3
I think heard it first looking up Moon Cakes and Chang-O, they're kinda similar I guess.
Remember Kaguya-hime as a boss in Parodius?

Was in the RAGE earlier on and witnessed the below conversation(I missed the start of it). Try and picture a very white Irish guy dressed as a hipster Japanese Otaku and the girl dressed as what I guess is supposed to be a Goth/Hipster hybrid with some Chinese text tattooed on her neck. Both in their late 20's maybe 30.

Hipster 1: Oh I'm basically an expert on Japan these days.

Hipster/Goth 2 (female): Thats cool, I love Japan as well. It's the culture, the arcades and all the shops.

Hipster 1: Yeah, I sort of wish I was born there. I feel like that's where I belong and stuff. The shops in Akohobora are really great for games.

And then I entered the conversation, dressed in regular human clothes

Me: Oh, I'm a big fan of Japan myself.

    Hipsters: ehh, oh yeah.

Me: Yeah, I always try to make it to Akihabara if I'm over and pick up some stuff.

Hipster 1: Hmm, oh yeah, how many times have you been there? (he looks at the girl and smiles like an arse****)

Me: Not really sure, I suppose 15-20 times over the last 8-9 years. A lot of times with work so I didn't get to see as much as I'd like on those trips. What about yourselves?

Hipster 1: Well, ehh, ehh , never actually been there in person. (looking a bit embarrassed at this stage)

Hipster/Goth 2 (female): Well, no , ehh, me neither i guess.

Me: I see, ok. Well you should definitely go over.

I'm guessing because I didn't look like a cool hipster goth otaku world traveller I wont be allowed in their Otaku club :D
They reminded me of this SNL skit:

With the implication being that he's traveled there by some other means?

I'm actually a big fan of Takahata, I think Pom Poko is their must underappreciated film.

I love pom poko and only just found out recently that its actually not one a lot of people like. Saw some online review of it where they ripped it apart and it strangely annoyed me.

It's like someone took a nature documentary and a folktale mixed them up and made it like a war mockumentary and then animated it.

It's so bloody unique and enjoyable.

I'm actually on a mini ghibli watchfest at the moment, just rewatched howl's moving castle and princess monomoke this week.

I got porco roso tonight (another of my favourites)

And then that man left the rage to shut down more hipster conversations, conquer more galaxies, keep fighting the good fight........some say he was a god, some say he was a king.........they were both right!

RIP Steel Battalion, we hardly knew ye:

The jump from hundred button behemoth to frickin' Kinect was always going to be problematic, but this sounds worse than we could have possibly imagined.

The jump from hundred button behemoth to frickin' Kinect

I got rid of my Kinect unit at the start of this year. It had so much promise, now it's just a platform for dance titles and shovelware. Even Forza 4, Donpachi and Child Of Eden couldn't sway me.

Liek zOMG, a rapper referenced a Sega Genesis. Your challenge? Listen to the song and find the reference without vomiting rainbows and stardust from over-exposure to awesome ofwgkta content.
They do it a few times in different songs, no idea why :P Maybe cos one of the guys in the group is called Domo Genesis
Ps; only for total hipsters who reject todays conformist mainstream music

For the price of an N64 psu posted from consolegoods, I got a whole N64 & PSU from Infideals. I need a PAL console to replace the one I gave away, & I need the PSU from it to power my NTSC N64. So win all round :)

Might start picking up N64 carts from the states/Japan now, the price difference is very appealing over the PAL ones.

You know what I hate about some modern games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls. I went to sart up fallout the other day from my last save file, and I remebered that I keep getting killed because I acted the mick in a town and have people out killing me. I've no weapons and can't get away so I keep dying. It's the only save file I have and I'm not starting from a baby again. It's the same in elder scrolls, some bleedin' knight is chasing me and kicking the crap out of me.
I'm not starting them again and putting up with the hand holding. There should be a way to skip all that crapola.

Really good price for Fahrenheit on gog.com

    http://www.gog.com/en/page/2012_summer_promo

I think it's a much better game than Heavy Rain... Takes a real nose dive in quality at the end though.
