I did something similar putting a whole extra 8mb of ram into my 200MHz pc back in 95/96.
I popped in the new Ram, put it all back together and all I got was beep..beep..beep.
I had fecked it all with a static charge!
Buggered it all up, had to send it back to the manufacturer and get, well, something done to it, don't know but I was back playing Quake and Mechwarrior 2 in no time.
Never did a job like that again let me tell you!

Yep it looks like the hdd is knackered

I put a spare into it instead and got an error 12

Is there any point trying explorer 360 on the other drive?

Edit; i formatted the drive from the disc i burned from the hotswap

The drive won't be paired to the board, you'll have to read out the eeprom & clone the old drive's id onto a new one afaik...the Doc is more up on it though & may have a better solution (mod chip may come in handy here?)

Ask KerbDog to do the mod for you!
He has modded tons of these things.
    And you won't knacker anything!

Yeah, get an executer 2.3 or executer 3 in there and you'll be sorted.

You can do it really easy and don't even have to solder them on :D

Is that the push on pin header thingy? I find them dreadful at making a good contact. Everytime the console is put back together they always seem to go on holiday & you get a red ring. I think the chip may be able to read out the eeprom, & from there the op can ftp in & take the info. Just a matter of building a new hdd file structure then from within nDure...I think!

Thats how you learn man, you'll sort it in the end.

Yeah, you kind of screw the chip onto the board.

I've never had any issue with them(done many) but they wouldn't be as "on there" as the soldered versions.
But I hate soldering and am rubbish at it :D

The kid next door is shouting and roaring and swearing ever minute or so for some reason.

I reckon he's playing a purple coin challenge in Mario Galaxy or one of them annoying as buggery rocket barrel levels in Donkey Kong Country Returns!

In other news... all that talk of postage coming from Japan makes me want to order some postage from Japan - doesn't take much to make we wanting some nice sh1t from Nippon does it? :o

Ugh, don't even talk about those purple coin levels.

The Mario shaped one in SMG1 is designed to hurt. IT'S DESIGNED TO HURT.

Next you'll be sleeping with a copy of Famitsu under your pillow. Not that I am accustomed to said activity. :o

Famitsu > Hentai in relation to these things. If you're not careful amongst my group of friends, you might end up being 'gifted' a hentai magazine that was bought as a joke a few years ago. A friend of mine accidentally accepted it recently to his extreme displeasure when the previous owner decided to move to London. The new owner was going on holidays a few days later so cue much panic as he attempted to hide it somewhere his parents wouldn't find it :pac:

Nothing like tricking a friend into inadvertently accepting used hentai!

    OH. MY. GOD.

I'd consider myself to be one of that movie trilogy's greatest ever fans. My three favourite movies of all time that are so utterly amazing they don't even feature on my top 10 list. Nay they are locked away in a fire-proof, bomb-proof vault on a velvet cushion and take regular baths in goats milk and wash their hands and faces in Evian.

Simply put. If these runners are legit. I'm first in line.

edit: Seems they are legit but only for sale on eBay (one pair is already going for $85,000). One thing that irks me slightly is that the two promo's do not show the power laces mechanism. Even still, great to see the money going to Michael J. Fox's charity just a shame use average Joe's will never get to own a pair.

Cue some stupid MTV awards show or similar and likely candidates for sporting a pair being Kanye West or other dicksqueezers of his ilk showing them off. *sigh*

    From the eBay auction FAQ:

Q: DO THE 2011 NIKE MAG SHOES POWER-LACE?
A: No. For the power-lace feature you will have to wait until 2015.

    What's the point?*

*besides contributing to a very worthy cause.

Thinking about the mechanism, it'll have to be pneumatic rather than electromechanical, a motor won't be reliable, not water proof or flexible. A pneumatic system, a variant of the old Reebok Pump system would do the trick. Won't be the same though.
And put me down or a hover board as well, I'll have Griffs board, you lot can share Martys pink one!
    Oh, a flying Delorean too!

It's all part of the ongoing McDonalds conspiracy to make us all obese and lazy.

"Who needs to waste their energy and get up to turn on your games consoles? Shmucks!" Check

"Hell, who even needs to insert a disc? Here, download 'em instead!" Check

"Bending over to tie your shoes? Pfft! Where do you think we are? Prison?" Check

*furiously wraps house and head in tinfoil*

Now if only we could come up with a device which would wrap your head in tin foil we'd be set.
