Accusing Retr0 of the emotions of both pity and hope is a ban? I must have missed that one in the forum rules, I'll just check.....

Oh, bugger, sorry Retr0, it'll never happen again, I'm sure everything you post here is the truth and right and I'll try not to question you again, your Retr0'ness.. :o

Right I'm going to take a trip to Dublin on Thursday. I'll make my usual stop to forbidden planet and size but this will be the first time I'll be able to go to Rage

so tell me, should I prepare myself for a let down or can I be optimistic?

Playing some Ivy the Kiwi today on DS, afraid to even post this as most people tend to like the game but not me. It's tripe, I thought I'd like it but I don't the gameplay does nothing at all for me:(

You should be optimistic about being let down!

Anyone think we can expect the PSP to drop to an very low price when the Vita comes out here around February?

I wouldn't mind grabbing a few different models and colours if they are 50 quid new or there abouts.

    I can dream I suppose.

€70 is a decent enough price.
I think €50 is the magic price that will clear them off the shelves though.

I'm going to pick up a second PSP when they drop. UMD drives like all Sony optical drives are made from delicate fairy dust and spider webs.

It's mostly a let down every time I've been there the past few months but you might get it on the right day.

I had a custom firmware PSP. However I found updating it sequentially and discovering the proper order for updating it sequentially to not be worth the hassle so got rid of custom firmware since I think emulation on it is **** and don't pirate the games on it anyway.

I'm still deciding whether to dip into my 'small-but-potentially-really-helpful' fund to pick up a Vita. Part of me wants a shiny new gadget for the first time in a long while, while another suspects it'll be price drop central within mere months.

Both options are potentially precursors to regret :(

If there's one thing to say for Vita, though, there's a surprisingly strong launch line-up.

Sequential firmware updating? I thought that was an ancient thing of the past, no?

I stuck a pandora battery in and a duo pro with soft mod files loaded on.

Pressed X and that was it.

Was able to boot any PSP game I threw at it.

Although that was about a year and a half ago. So maybe there's been some mad new firmware upgrade with recent games, I haven't a clue.

Well I gave up on it around the time i wanted to play ultimate Gn'G. It was the second time I had to look up instructions on how to update the firmware and they were like 'roll back the firmware to 3.21, then update to 3.25, update again to 3.56, update again to 3.58 then to 3.58a, then update again to 4.01a.... I just said **** it. I've not regreted it since.

You will when the UMD drive gives up. Custom firmware installation is very straight forward these days. Laser diodes be damned tbh.

There's really no reason NOT to be using cfw when it comes to PSP, as it still has all the official functions if you so desire.

Hmm Interesting, some very solid stories there and looks like some good collections.

Right now I'm after some of the original TMNT comics, and some of the Archie comics ones too.
Want to get the crossed collection aswell, read a few pages of my friends copy and it looks amazing
