Changing Car Stereo - Peugeot 206

    Well lads and lasses,

My standard Clarion radio/CD stereo in my Peugeot 206 is knackered and I am planning on buying a pricey enough Sony to replace it.

I shouldn't have any problems installing it but does anyone know if the handy flick-switch track/volume changer on the steering wheel will work with the new stereo or is it just designed for the Clarion, therefore becoming useless?

Also what will happen with the current screen display in the car - will the radio station and CD track number still appear here or will I have to rely on the screen display on the Sony?

Any advise or info is appreciated in advance.

It will be pretty much as you feared. The steering stalk will no longer work and the display will not appear on the screen.
There are ways around this, plenty of UK sellers on Ebay that offer electronic boxes and special connectors to keep the stalk controls.
The main thing to remember (if doing the changeover yourself) is to turn off the original stereo before disconnecting the battery and fitting the new stereo.

ps. also make sure that all the doors are closed and the keys are in your pocket before disconnecting the battery.

Ah that's a pity but I need a working stereo at the end of the day so I'm sure I can manage without the stalk. Thanks for the info bud.

Also I think most Sony usually comes with remote controller :)
