    Hi Guys,

Quick query, I'm about to sell my car privately, I'm just wondering what I need to do to transfer the car reg to the new owner? Is there forms to be filled in & sent? Where would I obtain these forms?

    Thanks in advance

You need to have the log book in order to sell the car. Did you not get that when you purchased the car?

Should have been sent out to you from registration office

You need to fill in this form and get it stamped at a garda station, provided ofcourse that the car is actually registered to you. (if you receive notificatoon in the post for motor tax then it's registered to you.)

The log book is an old term for the Vehicle Registration Cert or Vehicle Licensing Cert.

It's a good idea to ask the purchaser to show you his/her driving licence to make sure the correct details are recorded on the VLC.
