The price is a bit to steep for me, i'd have €30 million most, but that is how it goes. The man is a proven goalscorer. In season 09/10 he got 34 goals in 43 games for Porto, last year 39 in 43 games, including 18 goals in 16 UEFA Cup matches. Still only 25 so he has not reached his peak yet.

He could be a potential 25+ goals striker in La Liga alone next season, who knows. I am excited about the transfer, he'll be an adequate replacement for Aguero, but at a potential €47 million, you would expect that.

Since when do we measure transfers in euros? Lower transfer fee than Carroll and he is twice the player.

Its become fashionable to do it in euro now. Everytime on the radio they announce a move, its nearly always in euro these days. Does it really matter if its not in sterling? He did move from Portugal to Spain afterall, who both use euro.

Those fee's quoted are a little off, apparently it was closer to €45 for Falcao and Ruben Michel combined.

Porto sure do know how to rake in the cash and have success aswell, the profit they make on some players is unbelievable.

When we use different currencies on a forum, it becomes pretty difficult to measure the actual value of a transfer.

Assume forlan is gone now, they one and the like.

Athletico no stranger to getting them in cheap and selling them on.

Why would an Irish media outlet report a transfer between two euro country clubs in pounds sterling? Absolutely no need for it.

Sterling is not the default currency for transfers.

I've a feeling "The Flah" would bring a profoundly new insight to this topic.

If it was up to me we'd be measuring transfers in Japanese Yen.

I prefer the North Korean "won" myself. Sure ya man Kim-Jong Il is on the cover, doesn't he look adorable!

It's a pity the Zimbabwe Dollar no longer exists as the transfer fee would have been almost $21,000,000,000 then!

Wikipedia reckons he signed for Benfica yesterday.

    Fixed now I think.

One of the worlds most dangerous strikers was never going cheap, Got to give it to Porto they really know how to play the transfer market, Funny how everyone thought Hulk was the better of the two wonder what his value would be worth.

Delighted to get him. He's probably more like Forlan than Aguero. He's a goalscorer and that's what Atleti need now, especially after Forlan flopped last season. Him and Adrián could be a good partnership, imo.

If we can hold onto Reyes, him and Salvio should be setting up plenty of opportunities for those two. It could prove to be a good set-up.
