Does anyone know if there are wholegrain rice crackers on the market with no sugar or salt?
Or any type of healthy oat cracker either.
I am trying to cut out bread & pasta altogether and would like these as an alternative some days.
Any that I have found have added sugar or salt

With rice crackers, they have such a high gi that you might as well be eating sugar, so added sugar is not an issue. Same with salt, the amount is small, and where you should be watching for excess salt is breakfast cereals (look at the small print on cornflakes and Special K, you'll have a heart attack from fright) and ready meals.

You'd actually be better with something like Ryvita or Finncrisp rye crackers. Lower gi, and more fiber. Rice cakes and crackers may taste like cardboard, but they are not a healthy option. If you want rice, go for wild or wholegrain rice and cook it yourself.

So I have been eating cardboard for nothing!
Don't really like Ryvita but will try it again and never tried Finncrisp so will give that a go.
    Any oaty alternatives?

I have Nairns oatcakes a fair bit for snacks. Either sweet - with pb and low sugar jam or savoury with ham/cheese/humus etc.

I looked up Nairn Oatcakes and they look good, they also have a low GI. So would they be a healthier alternative to bread or even to rye crackers?

I love the Finncrisp thin crackers, they are so crunchy it's hard to believe they are only 20 cals a slice.

Oatcakes are definitely way healthier than bread, however rye crackers may be much of a muchness and depending on the brand, the ingredients etc.
