    Why bother? Keep the timber for your fire (the drawers make great kindling) throw the machine in the scrap pile and use the nice base for an outside table. :)

    Just don't figure on ending up with a valuable antique when you're finished, those sewing machines were made to last and there are thousands of them mixed up with assorted bric-a-brac in pubs all over the country plus the cast iron table frames are all mainly intact in olde worlde pubs as well.
