Why bother? Keep the timber for your fire (the drawers make great kindling) throw the machine in the scrap pile and use the nice base for an outside table.

Just don't figure on ending up with a valuable antique when you're finished, those sewing machines were made to last and there are thousands of them mixed up with assorted bric-a-brac in pubs all over the country plus the cast iron table frames are all mainly intact in olde worlde pubs as well.
