Tuesday Night Cup.

Here's something I want to try. Just to strengthen the boards community.

Just to give it a bit of a BETA test, the first cup will be limited to 16 players, and will be on a first come fist serve basis. Also the player draw will be random, and if this first cup is successful all players will be seeded in subsequent cups.

Its going to be Single Elimination.
Round 1 Bo3
Quarter Finals Bo3
Semi-Finals Bo5
Finals Bo5

Sign-up with the following details:

-Boards name:
-Starcraft name:
-battlnet number:
-League:


Rules:
-All matches will be played on Tuesday Evening.
-The starting time for the matches will be 8 pm
-If some players have not signed in by 8.20 pm the player they forfeit their matches.
-In subsequent rounds if two players have not began their match 20 minutes after their previous matches have finished the un-contactable player will forfeit their game.
-All replays must be posted on this forum. And must be titled as such:
Player 1 (Race) v Player 2 (Race) - Game 1 - Map

Map Pool:

• MLG Dual Sight
• MLG Metalopolis
• MLG Shakuras Plateau
• MLG The Shattered Temple
• MLG Tal'Darim Altar LE
• MLG iCCup Testbug
• MLG Xel'Naga Caverns

First Map for Each Round
-Round 1: Shakuras Plateau
-Quarter: Metalopolis
-Semi: The Shattered Temple
-Final: Tal'Darim Altar LE

Loser will choose any subsequent map.

Also if you can't turn up for whatever reason please contact me at least an hour before hand so I can re-open registration.
And I will need a second in command, just in case I can't turn up PM me if you are interested.

Well I could move it to 8 or 9.

Excellent idea. We used to do this every week when sc2 was new. I think posting the replays may be unnecessary if we just communicate via the irc channel. I would help set it up but I can't be sure I am available for the next few tuesdays

Well I would just like to watch the replays. Doesn't have to be tuedays, its just a beta idea, so I am open to any idea/change.

Think if it's Tuesday night we have it so it's all of Tuesday evening - many of us are working so getting in for 7pm (and for that matter, fed & rested) is a bit of a stretch. So make sure ppl play before midnight

Sorry pixelburp, i am not doing something that loose. It's going to be structured and strict, but if we wait until one fella comes online at 12 and plays, it could be 4 in the morning before the rest of the toruney finishes. I think 8 is a reasonable time.
Finish work at 5, commute for 1-1.30 and fed, washed etc, should take about an hour as well.

Maybe for you, not all of us finish at 5 good luck with it anyway cos I can't commit to it.

In fact i will organise one via the irc channel on the 13th of next month. Thats the next tuesday I can do it so pencil that in if your interested. I will do it with any amount of players. I'll give exact details closer to the event. Something along the lines of registration opening here and on irc at 7pm and closing at 8.15pm and starting at 8.30. I found with the previous nights we did, they worked well when they were just organised on the night. It meant all players who register would actually be there so it ran quiet smoothly. We also had a ventrillo server that someone lent to us so we could commentate over the final games as they were being played. It was good craic

I suppose it depends on attendance, if people are happy to do it weekly then theres no reason not to, if people can only make it monthly or forthnightly well then that works too, I'm not organsing it this time around but wouldnt have a problem doing so in future if theres not a regular organiser
