    2kg Dublin to Sydney €16.80

2.5 kg Dublin to Balbriggan €9.70

Can anyone figure out how an Post come up with their postal rates.

My money is on Sydney being delivered first

According to An Post delivery to Sydney is 7-8 business days using standard world-wide airmail. Dublin to Balbriggan would most likely be next day, or two days at most.

This is not a Consumer Issue. Moved to Online Buying & Auctions

Its a non-issue in my opinion . ..........A silly comparison to attempt .

How could the OP believe that post to Sydney could possibly be delivered before post to Balbriggan .( presuming he is in Ireland )

BTW , according to An Post website , and postal rates - 2kg to Balbriggan would cost €7.50 and 2kg to Sydney would cost € 16.60 .

I don't believe the OP is on planet earth .

The post to Balbriggan was deemed to be a parcel because it was not in an envelope, hence the higher price.

My point is I would have expected to pay far more to send something half way around the world and far less to post something up the road.

Heres another good one for ye :

I won an auction for 4 magazines (normal size) and the guy has 16.81 stg as postage.

    W'ont be paying that.

My point is that I expected to pay far more for the 2 kg from Dublin to Sydney (17,200 km) and a lot less for the 42 km distance for the 2.5 kg to Balbriggan.
