Just wondering if anyones knows a good stretch / exercise for the lower back that would help relieve tight hamstrings? Am prone to a tight left hamstring that comes from a lower back injury many moons ago! Keep softening the hamstring but it keeps tightening up again.

Is it catching in anumber of places down along your hamstring? Hip sore? If its nerve related I used to roll over and back on a tennis ball and when I got brave a golf ball. Its sore but roll over on the trigger points and its very successful. If you drive long distances just slip the golfball under you as you sit and youre multi tasking! If its just tight hammers maybe invest in a physio stick or foam roller.

Ive got a wavin pipe which is very effective, and do use the tennis ball from time to time - time to go scouring the rough off some fairways for a more effective tool! Im just thinkin because it keeps recurring it could be coming from my old back? injury? just gonna have to keep at the glutes and hammys with the tennis ball and pipe and plenty stretching, im hoping that'll do the trick but all extras tips and tricks welcome, so thanks for ye'rs ;)

The large foam roller is very easy use on the back as well so you could eliminate both problems there.

you could try a cut and paste, (without the quotes), it's a pretty big doc, so might take a couple of secs to open.
