Unclogging spray paint?

Does anyone have any good tips for unclogging cans of spray paint?
I've tried holding the can upside down, and I've also tried removing the nozzle and cleaning out with a pin.

I have a couple of almost full cans refusing to work for me.

I've been looking through my other cans to see if there are any nearly empty ones so I can swap the nozzles.
In the meantime, I'm soaking the blocked nozzle in white spirit!

I have often had the same problem, please post if the white spirit works

Could it be that you have been using them without shaking so you have used all the propellant and just have paint left?

Artie Anna - the white spirit didn't work. :-(

Looksee - no, I always shake well before use, and these are new cans that I've barely used.
But I have to admit that I didn't realise it was possible to use up the propellant before using up the paint. Is this the case for all aerosol cans?

As far as I know, though I could be a bit out of date. Its the propellant, among other things, that was blamed for the demise of the ozone layer, so I don't know if they still work the same. Have you tried nail varnish remover instead of white spirit?

I was going to try nail varnish remover but didn't have any at work and forgot to look at home - thanks for reminding me!
    :)
