USB port ruptured on Laptop, what to do?

Hey guys

There are three usb prots on my laptop (1 on the left and 2 on the right)
The one on the left stopped working about a year ago and the other side one of the ports is ruptured from a cable being yanked. I am down to one.

I know short term solution is to get a hub as I do need 3 sometimes 4. However I am thinking about actually fitting something like this.......

The model of my laptop is Toshiba Satellite Pro L450-179 does the item need to be exact or could I just use some of these???

The port on the left is a separate issue.

Any solutions would be appreciated!

if you are a ninja at soldering look on digikey for a matching USB port connector and attach it.

No experience at all, would have thought it was just a case of fixing in with 2 screws and then connecting it with some kind of male to female connector? Is this not the case?

If it is the one in the link that you need then ya its just a matter of pluging it in but striping down the laptop is going to be the hard part.

They had one of those in aldi very recently, still have them in the boxes in Limerick. USB 3 also if IIRC.
