2x 250GB internal hard drives (1 is running out of space!)

    Hi,

As the title says I have a Dell Studio 1735 laptop which has 2 x 250GB internal hard drives. One has 3GB left on it and the other one is unused.

The majority of space that is taken up on the hard drive is on account of iTunes.

I'm just wondering would I be better moving my music library to the other drive (D: ) or will windows 7 automatically start using the other drive when the first one is full?

If I need to move my music to the other drive which is free how would I do this?

    Thanks...

No, windows wont start using the empty one when your c: drive is full. You need to move your itunes folder to the other drive to free up space. Google "itunes move folder"

I'm also wondering would I need to consoldiate the library or is it just a case of moving the iTunes music folder and chagning the location of the iTunes Music library?

If the second drive is unused I'd move the Windows paging file to the D: drive immediately, this will free up space on C: and should improve performance, especially if you have a memory constrained system which is doing a lot of paging.

Cheers. I moved my iTunes library accross - all 141GB of it (8800 songs and a few films)!. Took 2 hours to consolidate!
