It appears there is a dealer selling them out in Sutton: http://suttoncars.ie/sutton/index.php

They obviously haven't been doing enough to promote the cars, as it's news to me that a dealer has existed here since as far back as March.

They're cheap Malaysian crap, get it right.

Perodua have been in Clonmel for two years if not more. They're based on Daihatsus so I'd say they'd be OK. Comparing them to the Chinese junk that's being built at the moment likely does them a major disservice.

    Toyota engines though.

I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with them if all you're after is a decent reliable car.

I wouldn't disagree at all, and the Alza is an alright looking hatchback.

I think Perodua has always been based on Daihatsu and Proton based on Mitsubishi.
Drove a Perodua Kenari long term and never had a problem..just kept to the service schedule. Wouldn't buy one though. I'd go Toyota or Honda first

Photos of some of their stock look like they were parked in the front of someone's house. To have any chance of selling they need to be undercutting cars like the Fiat Panda and Nissan Pixo and offering good warranties like the Koreans.

They are also for sale in Kinsale. Last week I drove past the Garage in Clonmel and there was at least 20 of them in the forecourt.

Not sure about other model but the MyVi shared the platform with Toyota and Daihatsu i seem to recall (Much like Peugeot, toyota and citroen).. MyVi SE version kitted out is actually pretty decent..

The problem for Perodua in europe is the competitive cost Vs the choice available over here in europe..

The market here is very much into second hand car (which a lot of time there are good bargains to be had), where as asian country is not as popular with second hand car buying..

It is actually more expensive in Malaysia to buy the same car.. although it is more expensive compared to buying it over here, it is actually still relatively cheap compared to imported marque (BMW, Merc, Audi etc) because the government impose high import duty on the imported cars.

Have Cherys arrived in Ireland yet? They're here in Queensland but have been banned in Victoria.

There was one spotted testing in Tallaght a while back. I think it was parked behind a Hyundai dealership

Central Garage in Clonmel have been sellin them for at least 5 or 6 years.

They are a reliable, no frills car. Nothing wrong with them at all, unlike most modern new cars.
