    quite scary
Cape Town - A British man died after being attacked by a shark while on his honeymoon in the Seychelles on Tuesday, UK media reported.

Ian Redmond, 30, from Lancashire was attacked as he swam off Anse Lazio beach on the island of Praslin. His wife was reportedly sunbathing at the time and heard his screams.

The Foreign Office confirmed the death and that it is providing assistance to his family, Sky News said.

This is the second fatal shark attack there in two weeks. A 36-year-old French tourist was killed on August 2.

A Seychelles government minister chaired an emergency meeting to discuss the freak attacks and later released a statement announcing a swimming ban, Sky reported.

It is believed Redmond, who married less than two weeks ago, was snorkelling some 20 yards from the shore.

Authorities have launched a hunt for the shark and reinforced a ban on the dumping of waste from yachts and other boats to prevents luring sharks.

Why are they hunting for the shark? He was hungry, not a friggin' psychopath. Not fair to kill the shark for doing that.

I don't know why but I was even more disturbed by a side thread to this story in another newspaper. IIRC a Russian girl and her stepfather were attacked by a brown bear and its cubs. The father was killed outright but they began eating the girl alive. She made 3 calls on her mobile phone to her mother back home telling her she was being eaten alive, OMG the agony etc.

    Shudder!!

    Poor poor girl!!

    It's a ****ing shark.

You may as well try and cull jelly fish for stinging people.

Isn't is something like 60 fatal shark attacks a year vs. 100,000,000 sharks killed by humans ?

Did the authorities warn people about the previous shark attack ?
