i know this sounds mad but do girls still get perms nowadays? would i be looked at like i had 2 heads if i asked a hairdresser for one? i don't mean a horrible 80s style one, more a relaxed kind of curl like ghd curls but permanent. my hair is naturally straight but v oily, and i'm sick of washing it and having it look a mess within a few hours. thought a perm might be good as i often curl it with a wand anyway esp for going out etc?

I enquired about getting permanent loose waves with a hairdresser in PM and she wasn't very enthuasistic about it.
She told me that it wasn't an option for my hair as it was coloured.
That was about two years ago so maybe there are treatments that can do this now.
