I just ordered a Sky + HD box today to replace my existing Sky + box. The new box will have the new EPG. Can you still add channels in the new one same as the old.

    You can.

The only issue is that Sky in their pettiness have made it look like there are none.

On the serivices menu, everything appears as you use the arrow keys....except for Other Channels; for that option you need to hit "select" for the channel names to appear.

And, of course, you can't record from them.

Pure bull**** by Sky - especially when half of the EPG is taken up by ads for channels you don't want and haven't subscribed to.

Yes, I know the reasons why they won't let you reorganise their crappy EPG properly, but it still doesn't make it right.

Its a nusience that they wont let you record the extra channels but I found a thread here telling how you can record them cant find it now but works like this... go to sky news, press red button after it loads pull out card and turn it upside down and reinsert. The uk EPG will load so you can record whatever channel but you'll have to turn the card back to record. the only downside is the program has to be started before you can record it. Hope I made sense with this.

You can't do that with the new HD boxes.

Also the new EPG is so slow at changing channels, I thought they'd have improved that by now, but no.

You can record from 'other channels' by tuning channel in and connecting your Sky box to external recoder and record on to it. Bit of a pain but possible to do nonetheless.

So there's no way to get the UK EPG to load like you could do before.
