Anyone got recommendations for good value compression socks? I have a Nike pair which I find great for my shins and calves, but they're kinda pricey. Found a twin pack of 1000 mile ones on Wiggle for €25. Reckon they're the best value I'll find?

I've still got the pink ones that were a potential forfeit if certain people lost a certain bet :pac:

I've a pair of Nike ones too that I wore for Barcelona, both are equally good, though I'm guilty of wearing them for no reason other than the cold at times.

Thanks!!! They look perfect. Might even get some pink ones!! I'm a 5.5, they come in size 2-5 or 5-8, would you recommend going up or down?

Go down - I'm a 6.5-7 and there's still quite a bit of room in the foot.

Assume these can be used instead of tights?

Can't get my head around the tights issue..........

They usually only go up to your knee, so if you need them to cover knees/ upper legs they wouldn't really work.
I plan on using them under 3/4 lengths over the Winter sometimes as a sub for full length tights.

Manly ? Shants are not manly. Running tights are more manly than shants anyday...

Elverys do the 1000-mile ones, but they are around 17-18 euros

I'm guessing here, but I think you are confusing running tights which are long winter legings (think Long Johns) with compression or recovery tights.

Compression socks are a different beast altogether. Before you spend money on them you should try a cheaper pair of the running sock versions to ensure you don't have any comfort issues with the compression version.

Personally I prefer the compression calf guards cos I can then wear my Mizuno socks or go barefoot without compromising my compression.

ur problee better off goin for full lenght comp if ur usin for recovery...and they look sexier walkin around the gaff, plus u dont have to get up off the sofa as ur missus wont let u answer the door...

I'm a fan of the 1000mile compression socks; they seem to work better than the skins recovery tights i've got, and they're a lot cheaper! Tried teh sugoi socks before and didn't like them, found them uncomfortable and too tight on the feet - the 1000mile ones are tight around the calfs but fit like a more regular sock around the foot itself.
