I work for a multinational financial services company, they announced recectly that there would be no wage increases in Ireland. However, a colleague of mine told me she got a raise and I've heard rumours of a couple others getting wage increases.

What blatant lies have you been told by your employer?

I remember working in an MNC a few years ago. One lady was told her job was secure... 2 days later, at a huge staff meeting, they announced all from her section (only 2 people in her section including her) was being let go.

Middle aged lady with a family. Heartless bastards. I felt like burning down the building that day, to spite the *****.

I had my annual review 2 months ago and asked for a pay increase as I'm not getting paid enough for the work I do. At the time my boss said she'd have an answer for me soon.

If you have any issues, approach HR and they will help

Hah, the company pays HR's wages and if there is a dispute between me and the company, HR will hang me rather then help me. Probably take what I say in confidence and pass it straight to management
They know who signs their appraisals and writes their wage slips and it isn't lowly me

With the new computer system work will be so much easier and there will be no more wasting paper.

(2 for the price of one on the lying stakes there.)

The computer system makes three times the amount of work and we are going through a Brazilian rainforest a week.
