if it needs gas then there might be a leak in the refrigerant pipework. The gas should not escape as its a closed and pressurised circuit.

That is assuming that this is the problem in the first place.

    Thanks for the reply!

Ive actually no idea whats wrong with it, i just stopped working recently, i usually just press the ac button and its freezing air now nothing happens. Wheres the cheapest place to get this checked out? ideally dont want to bring it back to opel. Is there any long term problems if i ignore it for a while?

when you turn your a/c on does it blow air but not cold air ?

if it blows air but not ice cold air then it needs a refill and you can regas it yourself though a motor factors or you could let aircoonditioning.ie place do it

if it doesnt blow air then you need to bring it to airconditioning.ie place

    :D

i had the same problem and went to a motor factors to regas my air con, i found it quite easy to do but if your not mechanical minded or for ease of mind you may wish to let professionals do it.

Change the pollen filter before you do anything. It seems that last years cold weather has seen alot of cars this year suffering with A/C problems. And it could be down to a dirty pollen filter.
