    It's common for soccer players to surround the referee when they disagree with a decision, but an Argentinian fifth division match recently got a little out of hand. After the referee was physically attacked, he scaled a nearby fence in fear for his life.
    It all started when the referee carded the wrong player for Atletico Tostado, who reacted by barging into the official and throwing a weak right hook.
    After a few fists (or handbags) were exchanged, another furious Tostado player hit the helpless referee with a flying knee to the back.
    Even Tostado's coaching staff decided to get in on the action.
    The referee was given the linesman's flag to use in self-defence, but with the odds stacked against him he decided to bail, while even managing to slip during his grand exit.

    All those players and coaches throwing punches or kicks should receive lifetime bans from the game.

    I love the goalkeeper at around 32 who decides to throw the ball at the ref. Hilarious.

    It's a funny old game.
    He literally had to escape by flinging himself over the fence, crazy stuff.

    edit - watch the first fella in green as he comes out the gate, he picks up a long pole and chases the ref, was he going to 'javelin' him or what????

    I noticed that too, was expecting him to throw it at any second.

    Joey Barton should pay them a visit and see how they react to him falling over so easily. :D
