My laptop has C & D drives. The C drive is nearly full, whereas there is lots of space on the D drive. Is there any (quick, easy) way to move stuff to the D drive?

    Copy\Cut and paste?

I use Teracopy to replace the default Windows copying. If it comes to a file it can't copy (write protected or another reason), it'll just skip it and move on to the next instead of windows cancelling the whole copy process.

Change the location of your mydocuments, my music and my videos folders to the D drive.

Dont attempt to move programs, only user data.

Run Ccleaner to clean off all the crap on the C: drive first and then Google 'change my documents location' and follow the relevant instructions for your version of Windows That should sort it.

Try using Spacemonger (http://www.sixty-five.cc/sm/) to clean up some space too, youll be surprised at the stuff you have and dont need.... Spacemonger basically visualises the drive by file size making it easy to see whats taking up space.

If you have Vista or Windows 7, you could try to shrink or delete your D drive and expand your c drive into the created space...

That would work only if they are the same physical drive however.

You can move big folders in your documents fairly easily. If for example you have a load of music on your C: Drive, then right click on 'my music' folder->properties->move->Browse to D:/MyMusic then Ok (create folder on D Drive first) you will be asked if you want to move all the contents to the new location, just click yes/ok.

I think you can only move entire MyDocuments folder in XP but can select individual folders in Vista/Windows7
