I am going to get a USB tv tuner for my laptop and just wondering if this can pick up Saorview? If not can anyone point me towards one that does? Also I'd like to be able to use it in England also, so it needs to be for what ever format they use to.
    Thanks

anyway i have one of these and it works fine for saorview including rte2 .

it wont however pick up the t2 (HD) transmissions in England.

Sorry link has been added now.

Thanks for your link it looks good. Why do you say including RTE2? Is it hard to recieve or something?

i think the including rte 2 line - means including RTE 2 which is HD

    yup rte2 is HD (sometimes)

Looking at the maplin one it dosn't mention mpeg4 compatibility , which you need for saorview.

shizz, I suppose you are aware that when using such devices, all the decoding and processing must be done by the PC as all the tuner does is receive the signal and pass it on to the PC. So your PC will need to be reasonably capable ;)

Yeah I understand this. My Laptop is fairly high spec so I reckon it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks though.

For UK DVB-T2, the only USB device I can find is this one:
