hi there is a few reasons for bringing a dog not just a wired hair pointer
no 1 good company best friends
2 the will smell and mark deer long before any humans
3 most other countrys recommend you have a tracking dog most of there shooting is heart and lung shooting and deer have a habit of running into deep cover
4 if your culling numbers of deer the chance of getting one or more shots the dogs are used to follow up and find deer you have shot the can save a lot of time to recover your animals
there are other reasons but there my main reason for having a deer dog

Did a a bit of deer stalking last year and both the lab and spaniel cross certainly got into it!!, to the extent I had to steer clear of places with deer in the off season when exercising them.

Mine has pointed deer in forestry that I would otherwise have walked by.
