Ok - I don't know if this will be in your top ten (:D!), but, if you're looking for a bit of craic, and something that is funny and you can look back and laugh at is as being a bit different:

About four years' ago, before I discovered Boards, I was on another messaging site. Part of this site's purpose was to encourage people from different countries to interact with each other.

One of the things they did was Send-A-Teddy. It started off with a Teddy bear somewhere in America (let's say Texas) being pictured having a pint with a local. Then, people would subscribe and give their addresses and the reason why Teddy should come and have a drink with them. Teddy was sent all over the world and, every person he was sent to, would have to take a picture of Teddy in the pub with them, and most of them would send a little "Teddy-diary" setting out the things that Teddy did when he was over visiting.

It mightn't be the most exciting thing it the world, but it was fun, and interesting, and I still remember the laughs I got from it!

How about a marathon. They take a lot of time to train for and would fill your days if you don't get a new contact

A parachute jump for "charity". If you want to do one of those use your own money and not under the guise of it being for some worthy cause. Few things sicken me more than seeing someone fundraise for themselves to go and have a good time.

Genuinely despise when people do "charity" events with the sole aim of getting a free trip/parachute jump out of it. Parachute jumps works out something like 50% of the first 500 or 600 is kept by the company for assisting with the jump.

If you're feeling so charitable pay for the skydive yourself and raise the money for charity separately. I don't see why people should pay for your poxy attempt at a free jump.

look people how about slatin the charities for offerin people a chance to do somethin like a parachute jump instead of gettin onto the people who take up these oppertunities then. fightingblindness.ie are one such charity who organise these things how about givin out to them for tryin to earn a few quid and offer someone a chance to do somethin.

anyway this is gettin outta hand just lookin for cool interestin stuff to do as my the title of my thread suggests

If you dont want this going off topic I wouldn't suggest encouraging people to give out to charities for raising money :D

To be fair if I give money to something like this (and have done something like this in the past) I think it is expected for the person to pay their own costs, otherwise it's not really charity
