Transferring apss etc from old ipod to new ipod

Due to my error, i damaged beyond repair my son's ipod. I have ordered a new one from apple. I was just wondering what are the steps I need to undertake to get the apps from the old ipod on to the new one. The old one is kaput so is no longer readable when I connect it to his laptop, Many thanks

Sync over any apps that are stored on the computer already, and redownload apps that aren't. You won't be charged to redownload any paid apps if you use the account they were originally purchased with.

Aidan, thanks for your reply, worked a treat, got it all back up and running, I was surprised how easy Apple make it for you!
