    Hi all,

Just wondering what you think about moving to Manchester. Basically I have an interview this week over there for a job I would probably really like. However, I'd be leaving my fiance, family, friends etc etc. The money is not great though and I'd be forking out for the flights for the interview too (which is expensive at short notice). But it would be a good company to work for I think.
What say you? What should I do? I've never been so I don't know what it's like over there.

    Thanks.....

I'd go if I was you. A job is better than being unemployed and living somewhere else means you'll focus on the work and save the money.
It's not far to fly/ferry so you can come back to visit easily.

Grew up there and can tell you great place to live, also so handy for getting home, only an hour to Holyhead and easy enough to get flights from Manchester or Liverpool. Depending what you're into pretty big Irish scene about the place - quite a few GAA teams, and lively enough social scene.
City centre and Uni area great for a night out as well.
Accomodation not too expensive and people friendly engough.

Not easy leaving home but if you have to Manchester is a good option.

Theres no place like home - except when there is no jobs at home .

If Manchester offers a good job then seize it with both hands - transport links between here and there are excellent so visits home would be easy.

From Manchester originally myself, would definitely take up the opportunity if you got offered the job - low cost of living - good social scene and nightlife - the Irish scene still buzzing over there with sport etc...

Also the train system over there is different class to get around - you can even fly over/back from Liverpool/Leeds if the flight prices are too expensive from Manchester(which they can be especially on Fridays if not booked well in advance)
