    Hi all.

I'm in the middle of editing some graduation pics and I want to slap a watermark on them before I email them to the various graduates so they don't steal them.

The question is, quite simply, how the hell do I do it?! :o I'm using Elements 5.0.

Thanks for any response (apart from ridicule!) :p

I'm not familiar with Elements 5. To make a simple watermark, I
create a new layer in Gimp. Put the watermark text or image on
the new layer and adjust the transparency of the layer until it is
barely visible. I'm sure you can do something similar in Elements 5.

Wow, using a castle as a watermark is very grand.

    Oh.

Unbelievably I've managed to work it out so my next question is:

How do I type the Copyright 'C' in Photoshop? I know how to type it in MS Word, but when I try it in PS, nothing happens... :(

Hold down Alt and type 0169 on the keypad, let go of alt and it should appear.

I usually take the lazy option and use (C). This is because I can never remember
the unicode value for the copyright symbol. There are a couple of ways of getting
the proper symbol. The first is to copy & paste from a word processor. The other
is to enter the unicode by hand. On Linux and Mac, this is 'control shift u' and then a9

Oh yeah - I did it!!! I used the C & P option; tedious, yes, but it's the easiest way I could do it.

    Hbr, you're my hero!! :D

Dont know if you have checked out a recently thread on resizing photos at once (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056356975)
the one i suggested, LightResizer, actually has a batch watermark tool too. all you need is your watermark file in a tranparent png i think. check out http://forum.obviousidea.com/threads/85-How-to-add-a-watermark-in-your-images-with-Light-Image-Resizer

Colblimp, if you want to make any money from these photos, or even make sure that people know you took them, watermark the bottom as you have it, but also put another one, very lightly so it's very transparent, right through the centre of the image.

They minute they get your photo, the watermark will be cropped out and it'll be on their facebook (or if you give it to them at the above size, it'll be cropped and possibly printed at 6x4 to see how it looks).

I used to use a tiny watermark because I didn't want to 'ruin the photo'. Then I seen my photos appearing around the place with no watermark, so now it's straight through the centre.
