    Hi,

My sister & her hubby met in sligo about 12 years ago & to say thanks for all that they have done for us over the past year I would like to get them a hotel break in October in Sligo.

I have been looking online for different hotels etc, but not being from the area I dont really know which one to pick. Have a budget of about 400 euro, ideally looking for a 2 night B&B plus one dinner package with the usual flowers fruit & sparkling wine in their room on arrival.

Any hints/tips would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance

Depends on if they want to be in the town or don't mind being a bit out.

For a really upmarket, beautiful place I would recommend Cromleach Lodge, I absolutely love that place. The food, rooms, views etc. are beautiful but it is about a half hour drive from Sligo town (Dublin side), bit pricy but you get what you pay for and you should get what you are looking for on your budget.

If they would like to be in town then the Glasshouse would be my first choice, they have a lovely restaurant, nice rooms and is right in the centre with free parking for residents.

There is also The Clarion about 5 minute drive from Sligo and is quite nice.

+1. Went to the Radisson one weekend and it was great. Well worth it, and great location. Nice pool etc too . Or try the Glasshouse or Southern if you want a hotel within walking distance of the town centre.
