Does anybody have a link to a legit site where I can donate money to Israel? I've searched the internet but all the sites I come up with look like scams.

Send it to the equivalent of their Dept of Finance. But you knew that, you just want a reaction.

I want to support the Jewish homeland. It's my money and I'm free to do with it as I please. I also regualrly write to my local TD, lobbying him to get the Irish government to donate more aid to Israel.

I was just asking to know if you had a specific area you wanted to donate to.

I suppose that $2.8 billion a year they get from the US just doesn't cut it though. I would be wholeheartedly against the Irish government sending any aid to Israel. Considering their GDP is about $100billion more than ours, maybe we should be asking them for aid?

Hmm Israel does appear to be an extremely successful state despite all the adversity. Maybe we should be asking them for aid

I'm living in Israel ATM, feel free to PM me about any particular cause you'd be interested in supporting. There are some really great charities for kids, my favourite would be the One Family Fund- it's for kids who have lost a parent or sibling from terrorism and is a really nice organisation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VngZZwOqaeI

Please don't send the money to hasbara associations- they simply don't need it.

^ Also looks like a good one- those co-existence ones can be very worthwhile. I have a friend who volunteered in an Israeli/Palestinian theater and she did some really wonderful things

Yeah, to be fair, Israel is doing a lot better than Ireland in terms of employment and whatnot. Although the standard of living I would say is lower here.

You can donate to the Israeli equivalent of the British Legion at http://www.fidf.org/Page.aspx?pid=288

As someone who has a boyfriend in the IDF, I can safely say that they have more than enough money- I'd be more inclined to give it to something that deals with kids. There's a huge youth population here, and really not enough resources for them.

What a curious thing to do. Why would you want the state you live in that is in economic meltdown to donate to a state whose economy is doing better than most of Europe and the US?

It would be like someone in Kenya deciding to donate money to France or something.

Methinks Ireland needs some Jews controlling the purse strings over in Ireland ;)

Seems odd to want to support the State of Israel financially. They're doing pretty well for themselves.
